Amir Arts

Amir Akbari is a Toronto based visual and community artist. Over the past six years he has been working with diverse communities within the GTA as an artist, workshop facilitator, project coordinator, and youth mentor. Amir has worked on, coordinated, and developed more than twenty five collaborative public art projects throughout the GTA, working with numerous different local community members, agencies, centers, and organizations. Amir is a graduate of the OCAD University, where he acquired a Bachelors of Fine Arts.

Amir is currently working as a freelance artist, art instructor, and drama instructor with the East Scarborough Boys & Girls Club, the Immigrant Youth Centre, and Community Living York South, creating and delivering interactive programs to engage youth in creative development and self expression.
