Art on the Move, Year 3 - Toronto Public Library

Location

Mobile, Artwork vinyl wrapped on Toronto Public Library Maintenance Vehicle. This project was presented by Arts Etobicoke and Lakeshore Arts and supported by the Ontario Trillium Foundation. The vehicle was provided by the Toronto Public Library. The artwork was designed and produced by the Youth Advisory Group at Mimico Centennial Library.

Concept

The major concept for this project was Human Interaction, Imagination, and Ideas Coming to Life. As a group we felt that in the digital age, where people have access to so many different technologies and information, that we sometimes get glued to our digital devices and forget to really look around and take in amazing possibilities around us.  That we sometime forget to power of imagination that literature, and discussion offers.  Our new method of social interaction through social networks mediums can sometimes come at the cost of the human face to face interaction that we are starting to steer away from.  We also wanted to represent the power of imagination to move and inspire us, we wanted to also talk about the creative process and represent some of the arts as well as literature.
